    Dr. Reiffel has been actively involved in teaching, research (including numerous multicenter trials), and clinical practice (clinical cardiology and clinical electrophysiology) for over 4 decades at Columbia. Outside of Columbia, Dr. Reiffel has taught regionally, nationally, and internationally -- having given over 1000 presentations at most major medical institutions in the country and at several lay programs as well and has been a guest on several regional and national medical and TV news programs and webcasts. He has received numerous honors for the quality of his teaching. Dr. Reiffel has also served in advisory capacities re: the FDA and multiple pharmaceutical and medical device companies and has been on the planning committee for the Cardiac Safety Research Consortium. Regarding cardiac arrhythmias, Dr. Reiffel has been involved in developmental/research studies of electrophysiological techniques, antiarrhythmic pharmaceuticals and devices, new anticoagulants, and multiple major multicenter trials. Current research interests include the optimum management of patients with atrial fibrillation and flutter, development of new antiarrhythmic and antithrombotic pharmaceuticals, and the use of implanted cardiac devices for arrhythmia detection. He is a member of the Steering Committee for both the CABANA trial and the ORBIT AF Registries, is the Principle Investigator (PI) for the recently completed REVEAL AF trial, and co-PI for the recently reported HARMONY trial. Dr. Reiffel has published one golf book (RELOAD—the Rules for Mulligan Golf) and two children’s books (illustrated by his four grandchildren: My Goose Got Loose, and Once Upon an Antigmule) and has contributed chapters to the golf book: Playing Without Pain—Medical Advice to golfers Over 50.

    Affiliation:Dr. Deering is a cardiac electrophysiologist at the Piedmont Heart Institute in Atlanta where he also serves as Chief of the Arrhythmia Center, Chairman of the Clinical Centers for Excellence and Chief Quality Officer. He has served in a variety of volunteer roles for the Heart Rhythm Society and presently serves as president. His research and clinical interests are focused on defining and implementing quality initiatives in electrophysiology and cardiovascular medicine. He has served as a speaker and moderator at national and international electrophysiology and cardiology meetings; has authored and co-authored numerous publications addressing cardiac arrhythmia and cardiovascular quality issues; participates in a number of cardiac electrophysiology arrhythmia research projects and serves as a reviewer for multiple cardiac electrophysiology and general cardiac journals. Dr. Deering earned his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the Yale-New Haven Hospital, his cardiology fellowship training at Boston University Medical Center and his cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at Tufts New England Medical Center. He has previously been a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine and at present is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia and the Mark E. Silverman, M.D. Educational Chair.

  • Antonio Raviele, MD, FESC, FHRS.

    Affiliation:Antonio Raviele is the President and Scientific Secretariat of Venice Arrhythmias – the worldwide-known workshop he actually created back in 1989. He is also the President of ALFA – ALiance to Fight Atrial fibrillation – and President of the Scientific Committee of FIGHT AF! the awareness campaign against atrial fibrillation that debuted in 2011. He has been the author of the first implant of transvenous defibrillator in Italy. Antonio Raviele has always played key roles within many among the most important cardiology associations and societies – such as ECAS, ESC and HRS – while also providing fundamental contributions as the member of several task forces on related topics. He isn’t only the author of more than 200 peer-review publications on many aspects of cardiac arrhythmias, but also the editor and supervisor of several books on arrhythmology. Besides, he’s a reviewer and member of the Editorial Board of some among the most renowned field journals, such as the JACC, EHJ, HR, JCE, Europace, PACE, JICE, JAF, JCM, GIC.

  • Edmond Cronin, MD.

    Affiliation:Edmond Cronin is a Cardiac Electrophysiologist and Associate Professor at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, Philadelphia. A native of Ireland, Dr Cronin received his medical degree with honors from University College Cork, and completed his electrophysiology training at Cleveland Clinic. His clinical interests include ventricular tachycardia ablation, atrial fibrillation ablation, conduction system pacing, and transvenous lead extraction. Dr Cronin is the author or co-author of more than 50 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, presents frequently at national and international meetings, and serves as a reviewer for several medical journals. His research focusses on ablation of ventricular arrhythmias and transvenous lead extraction outcomes, along with serving as an investigator in several multicenter clinical trials. Dr Cronin is a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society, and currently sits on its Scientific and Clinical Documents Committee. He is a member of the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology, European Heart Rhythm Association, Irish Cardiac Society, and the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. He is also an avid, but not terribly fast, runner.

  • Jacob Koruth, MD.

    Affiliation:Dr. Koruth received his cardiac electrophysiology training at Massachusetts General Hospital and then completed a research fellowship at Mt Sinai Medical Center, New York. He completed his medical training at Christian Medical College, Punjab, India. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Leona M. And Harry B. Helmsley Electrophysiology center at Mt Sinai Medical Center, New York. His clinical practice and range of interest encompasses all aspects of clinical electrophysiology with a particular focus in catheter ablation. He is the Director of the Experimental laboratory at Mt Sinai Medical Center where he works to explore new approaches to catheter ablation and mapping.
