Hickey is a nurse practitioner in the Department of Cardiac Electrophysiology at Columbia University and is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at the Columbia University School of Nursing. Her main interests focus on cardiac genomics and improving the care and quality of life of patients living with cardiac arrhythmias. Her work has been supported by the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. She has presented her work at many international conferences and published in a variety of journals. Dr. Hickey is the past president of the International Society of Nursing in Genetics (ISONG), and is a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and the American Heart Association.
Affiliation: Dr. Allen LaPointe is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Duke University, Chair of the Duke University Health System Institutional Review Board, and Director of the Duke Heart Center Distinguished Research Center Programs. Research interests include comparative safety and effectiveness of cardiovascular medications, translation of evidence into practice, and improving medication self-management.
